Emma Love,

LICSW

Clinical Supervisor & Therapist
(she/her/hers)

Coming to a session with me, you can expect to feel safe, heard, and most importantly, valued. I am excited about helping anyone looking to explore their identity, purpose, and passions. If you want to connect with and begin to express your true self to others, I am here for you and ready to help. Together, we can tackle the underlying issues that have prevented you from growing into the person you hope to become.

Throughout my life, I have started and then stopped therapy for various reasons: the therapist wasn’t the right fit, I didn’t know which topics I wanted to focus on, or I wasn’t ready to face my issues as quickly as I was being told that I “should.” I know how difficult it can be to find the right support and guidance, and I understand that building a genuine connection with your therapist creates a better and more fulfilling therapy experience. I bring this perspective to every session and every relationship that I have with my clients, and I hope to share that with you.

I know from my personal challenges finding the right fit, it can be nerve-wracking to sort out whether your therapist will understand your life experiences and identity. In particular, I want my potential LGBTQ+ clients to know that, although I may not have your exact lived experience, I bring understanding, empathy, and openness that will allow you to share your story in a way that feels the most authentic to you.

My therapeutic style is real, conversational, and solution-focused; I will meet you where you are, and we will begin our work from there. If that means starting with skill-building to help build a foundation and feel better prepared to process larger topics, we can do that. If it means jumping right in to take a deeper look at an issue you know is holding you back, we can do that, too. I am here to be a support for you as you grow, while pushing you past constraints that have kept you stuck.

Having the courage to show up and be vulnerable with another person can be life-changing. When we connect with others and work to let go of unhelpful patterns and the desire to control the uncontrollable, we’re able to become the self we always wanted to be. I am excited to partner with you as we figure it out together!
